Our School plan reflects numerous conversations with staff, parents, district and Ventura County Support Personnel to develop a meaningful and realistic School Plan. Throughout this process we never lost sight of what was best for our children.

Tierra Vista Mission Statement

Tierra Vista is committed to providing a child-centered environment with the premise that all children will perform to their highest level while meeting State and District grade level standards. Our school encourages access for all students. We uphold the ideal that education is essential to life. For this reason, it is Tierra Vista’s desire to nurture lifelong learners who will become active and caring citizens.

Students will learn how to read, write, compute, and comprehend to the best of their abilities. Students will develop effective communication and social skills along with critical, creative thinking, problem solving, decision-making and risk-taking skills.

Students will know the meaning of responsibility and respect and will develop positive self-esteem, self-discipline and self-expression.

Staff will use results of current research, and an analysis of state mandated tests and other assessments to guide curriculum development.

Teachers, students, parents, staff, and community will collaborate via School Site Council, PFO, Math, Language Arts, Writing and ELD Committees and the Library Committee to improve curriculum and instruction.

Our school community will appreciate and be sensitive to the ethnic, cultural, and academic diversity of our school.
